Lots of people have asked for this and I've finally found a way that I'm happy to teach it. We'll be talking about avoiding problems in the first place - tension, choosing patterns and yarn, then we'll discuss stitch mount and twisted stitches. Moving on to dropping and picking up stitches from a couple of rows down. Then tinking and frogging and inserting lifelines after the fact and then if we have time we'll talk about chopping our knitting up (!!!!!) and grafting it back together again. This is going to be amazing!
You should be able to cast on, cast off, knit and purl. Once you've been on our Learn to Knit 2 lesson you should be fine.
THERE IS HOMEWORK!!! I need you to knit and bring along a stocking stitch swatch - still on the needles - of roughly 20 sitches by about 4 inches in either DK yarn with 4mm needles or aran yarn with 5mm needles.
All classes take place at the Trinity Walk shop and start at 10.30am sharp and finish at 3pm not so sharp... We have a half an hour lunch which I have to be strict about because four hours is a lot of finger work! You'll probably want to bring a lunch as there's not much open here on a Sunday but you might be able to survive on the biscuits.
All classes are taught by the magnificent Eleanor Burke, manager here at Knit Nottingham, who is an obsessive knitter, crocheter and yarn lover with the patience of a saint! Kids and young adults are welcome but she does have a penchant for fruity language...
