So in the shop I've always thought of this pattern as a kid of pick 'n' mix - it's just a basic shape that you can do a lot with and it has a good rang of sizes. I'm meaning swap out plain sleeves for stripes, or striped sleeves for plain, use a basic colour for the ribs and use up scraps for random stripes in the main body (two dk's held together pretty much makes chunky if that helps with the scrap situation) or swap out some simple stitch patterns for the stocking stitch. There's a lot to be done with a basic shape! 

King Cole Big Value Chunky is a gorgeous option for this pattern; it's washing machine friendly and comes in some funky shades.

You'll also need some 5mm and 6mm needles.
