The yarn that's left over from making acrylic yarn is reprocessed into this yarn, and you might not be able to see on the photos but it creates a beautiful mottled, heathered effect. It can never be repeated, though, so we're not just talking about dye lots - you will never be able to get this colour again! Make sure you buy what you need to buy. It knits very much like a premium, standard acrylic double knit, so no worries there. Honestly, just enjoy this gorgeous yarn!
