This is a intricate, textured knit (or a very simple one depending on which you choose), that is worked horizontally to give an interesting contrast between the pattern and the yarn. 

It is knitted in King Cole Drifter Chunky which is a self-striping, faux fair-isle yarn that is a sexy mixture of cotton/wool/acrylic. You could also try knitting this in King Cole Chunky Tweed, which is gorgeous yarn with fleck making it interesting as well as soft and warm, perfect for such an accessory. 

You will need 5mm and 6mm needles for this project and a cable needle for the cabled project.
