In all honesty, it'd be a great way to start with cables because there's no messing, just straight up, rope cables that are going to get you in the groove.

Side note: I've no idea why they spread the sizes out how they did, super duper odd, please disregard the 'mens' and 'womens' bit and knit the size that fits your beautiful body. 

You know I'm always going to recommend the Forest Aran for an aran garment because it's warm, lightweight, recycled and ridiculously well priced. 

You will need 4.5mm and 5mm needles, some stitch holders and a cable needle.
