Learn to Crochet 1
For now I'm leaving these dates up as we've really no idea what the situation will be by the time the date comes around. If we have to cancel we'll let each participant know the week before and offer refunds, vouchers or a rescheduled date. If you booked in the shop the refund will have to happen when we open again as it has to be refunded in the way that you booked - i.e. if you paid cash then we have to refund cash (it's the law). Each cancelled lesson will be rescheduled later in the year and people that have booked already will have first refusal of the date or dates available before they're put out for sale to the general public. If you have spare money, know you want to take part in the lesson and are flexible on the dates then go ahead and book but I totally understand if you don't want to do that or want a refund - let's be kind and flexible together (sounds kinda saucy...).
The new fashion on the block. Learn how to make wonderfully quaint granny squares. You'll learn chains, slip stitches and trebles as well as how to finish your squares and how to weave in ends professionally. If we get enough time, we'll also talk how to work the squares together. Finally, we'll learn how to read crochet charts.
You'll get a crochet hook, enough yarn to make a good few squares, a fully explained pattern (and one with a lot less explanation for when you get good), tea, coffee and biscuits.
This class is suitable for absolute beginners and those who just need a quick reminder. Left handers, don't worry, we cater for you too.

Once you've got your head around the basics we'll add to that by learning other stitches like doubles, half trebles and double trebles. We'll learn how to work back and forth rather than in the round which will give you a basis in recognising stitches and those dreaded turning chains. And finally we'll study some increasing and decreasing. It's a bit of a 'bits and bobs' lesson I'm afraid but it'll definitely build your confidence.
You'll get a crochet hook, a full ball of yarn of your choice, a guide to the different stitches and techniques we've used on the day and enough tea, coffee and biscuits to keep you going until next Easter!
This class is suitable for those who can make a granny square or those just wanting to catch up with what they've forgotten.
Book them both together to receive a £10 discount!
If you're attending both classes, please choose that option rather than booking two single classes.
Please note, if there aren't any dates available that means that they've been sold out. Feel free to contact us but there's not usually anything we can do. I suggest following us on Facebook and signing up the the mailing list so that you hear first about the lessons and then book as soon as you can!!
All classes take place at the Trinity Walk shop and start at 10.30am sharp and finish at 3pm not so sharp... We have a half an hour lunch which I have to be strict about because four hours is a lot of finger work! You'll probably want to bring a lunch but you might be able to survive on the biscuits.
All classes are taught by the magnificent Eleanor Burke, manager here at Knit Nottingham, who is an obsessive knitter, crocheter and yarn lover with the patience of a saint! Kids and young adults are welcome but she does have a penchant for fruity language...
Full payment is to be made in advance. Lessons are non-refundable – please only book if you're are going to be available on that date. In the case of illness please let us know as soon as possible and before the lesson begins and we will endeavour to book you onto an appropriate alternate date but this won't always be possible and we reserve the right not to as the lessons are sold as non-refundable. Lessons are transferable so if you can't come you can send a friend instead (ideally, you'd let me know so I can write that in the diary).
