This is the only patterned-y pattern they've done in this collection which I think is interesting and the right thing! The cables down the sleeves are just enough interest and you can still see them because they're quite bold. Also, if it were me, I'd have a back/front going as well as a sleeve so that you can have stocking stitch when you need it and cable when you want it.  

The yarn is the King Cole Homespun Prism DK, but there's also the solid shades of Homespun DK if you're after them!

The needles are 3.25mm and 4mm and some stitch holders.
