Private Workshops

It's one of our great pleasures to offer private workshops for knitting and crochet! We've been doing it for years and they're always such great fun and so informative. We can cover literally whatever you like - tailored absolutely to you. Here are some things we've done before:

  • Beginners knitting and crochet.
  • Working through a pattern that's been twisting your melon.
  • How to adjust patterns to suit your body shape, how to upsize and downsize patterns (including baby patterns into adult!) and how to add shaping.
  • Specific techniques like intarsia, knitting in the round and amigurumi.
  • Hen do basic crochet.
The workshops are taught by Eleanor, owner of the shop and yarn crafter extraordinaire, with 15 years experience of teaching people how to knit and crochet. She's down to earth, relaxed and believes 100% in your ability to make beautiful things that suit you. For the most part you can turn up on the day with whatever issues you might have but if it's a beginners class or a technique class then she'll want a bit of notice to print out some bits and bobs for you.

One to one workshops cost £30 an hour and £5 per extra person per hour. So if there are three of you for a one hour workshop it will be £40. This doesn't include needles/hooks/wool so you're welcome to bring your own or we can sell you some on the day (absolutely not a problem... ;) ). If we need odd bits of wool for stitch markers etc then we'll be able to provide that so don't worry too much about bringing everything you've ever owned.

The reason we've not made a sales page, so you can't book directly, is because we need to arrange a date - the shop needs to be covered so you'll need to contact us which you can do over the phone (0115 9474239) or you can email us or pop into the shop. The best days for us will usually be a Tuesday, Friday or Saturday day time or a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evening but we can often arrange other days too. So if you come with some dates in mind based on those parameters then we can get organised between us.
