Zip up cardigans are a bit of a rarity in the King Cole pattern collection and this is a simple to knit garment to give the technique a try. 

Knitted in King Cole Big Value Chunky, a very popular yarn in the shop with all the qualities you need for a kids' garment: washable, durable and 100% acrylic for sensitive skin.  I would also recommend King Cole Drifter Chunky for these patterns as it is a self-striping faux fair isle yarn that does all the work for you. It is lovely and soft with a mixture of cotton, acrylic and wool. 

These patterns are knitted on 5mm and 6mm needles and you will need a few bits of haberdashery to finish.
