If you are looking for a simple cardi pattern to get you started on knitting garments this would be a great choice. The pattern gives you the option of knitting either a deep V-neck or a round neck depending on what works for your body shape. 

The cardigans are knitted in King Cole Big Value Super Chunky Tints which is 100% acrylic (excellent as a gift for vegans) and soft as those hats in the photo seem to be. You could also try using King Cole Timeless Super Chunky in contrasting colours for the hem to add a bit of interest. 

Knitted on 8mm and 10mm needles.
