Chunky, comfy and a great texture from the cable. This pattern does exactly what you need from a winter weather cardi. You can also choose between a simple v-neck and a shawl collar (always good for extra snuggle)

These patterns are knitted on King Cole Chunky Tweed a fabulous yarn with 25% wool which will give great longevity and warmth. You could also try our King Cole Timeless Chunky, soft solid colours with a lovely 'halo' of fuzz would be lovely for this garment. 

You will also need 5mm and 6mm needles and a cable needle for this pattern. King Cole also suggests that you will need a 5mm circular needle for picking up the ribbing - though you might just want to use this to knit the rest of the garment rather than using a straight needle too.
