I would 100% wear this outfit! Just something really classic about a cabled sweater with a tartan skirt. Another great introductory sort of garment for cables, with the basic basketweave on the sides and the plait cable in the middle. Cute! 

The Forest Aran would look brilliant here but so would the Big Value Aran.

Knitted on 4.5 mm and 5 mm needles. You'll also need a cable needle and stitch holders.
