There was a really interesting period at King Cole where they were doing a great job of showing how the plain yarns could integrate with the multi-coloured yarns and this pattern comes out of that period. They've not chosen the obvious colour matches and I thinks it's a more interesting pattern for it. I really see an owl in this texture and I think with judicious use of buttons or embroidery you could really make the most of that. 

This whole pattern has been knitted in the King Cole Big Value Baby 4ply range, including the basic one just mentioned, along with King Cole Big Value Baby 4ply Print and King Cole Big Value Baby 4ply Spot. You can mix and match and it will just look absolutely fabulous!

You're going to need 3mm and 3.25mm needles, a cable needle, and buttons for both coat and cardigan.
