I am such a big fan of more than one thing on a pattern and King Cole rarely disappoint. I'm not such a fan of the 'traditional' baby colours and, honestly, sometimes King Cole do disappoint there... Sorry... I need you to imagine these in lovely neutral colours or bright colours or spotty bits of stripy bits. Basically, take the fantastic pattern size, shape and texture and put your mark on it - or the mark that you think the guardian's will enjoy the most (and that might be the traditional colours which is fine). 

This can be crocheted in any King Cole double knit yarn, and you'll need a 4.5mm hook for the basketweave blanket and a 4mm hook for the rest.
