It's really nice to see a proper traditional aran - they bring them out every year and it's always around summer time when I start longing for the cooler nights again and crispy autumn leaves to stomp in.  This pattern is going to keep you on your toes even if you know what you're doing so I'm excited for all the hours of fun you have knitting and reknitting this! 

This is written for the Big Value Aran, the Fashion Aran would be a great alternative and if you like a pure wool (which I do for arans, snuggly!) then have a look at the Wool Aran. You'll need some 4.5mm and 5mm needles and a cable needle.
