There's a load of variations for these patterns - different sizes, some with frills, some without frill. They'd be great scrap busters and despite the pattern not saying so, they're going to be pretty easy to work up too.
These friends have been knitted in King Cole Comfort Chunky, but Big Value Chunky would work as well. For the version that Hannah made, she used 1 strand on Big Value Super Chunky in Olive for the shell and 2 strands of Big Value Chunky in Caramel for the body of the snail.
You'll need 5mm needles, toy stuffing, a little bit of contrast yarn to embroider the mouth, and depending on the size of snail either 10.5mm or 15mm safety eyes.
