Christmas in August

Hello hello hello. Its August now. I don't know how, but eight months of 2022 have already passed. And, if you think about it, Christmas is just around the corner if time is passing this quickly lately. So, Eleanor thought we'd focus a little bit on Christmas this month, because otherwise we'll all be rushing with a month to knit up everything, and we don't want that do we! Every day the shop is open in August, we'll post a little tidbit about some Christmassy fibrecrafting on Facebook and Instagram, whether it's a great pattern we know will be perfect...

So, after a rather long blog post the other day about the city of Nottingham and what Eleanor and I love about it, I would now like to welcome you to the blog post about Nottinghamshire! It's a big county with a lot on, and no matter which direction you head in, you're bound to end up somewhere beautiful. We talk a lot about yarn, knitting, crocheting and making on these blogs, so that's the first half of our name sorted. But, we never really talk about Nottingham itself. I'm not sure why, but now is as good a time as ever to do so. It's here! It's happening! We have a new chunky yarn coming our way and we are SO EXCITED. Safari Chunky is King Cole's latest offering to the variegated knitting deities of our craft. 150g and 311 yards of soft premium acrylic, all in a cake that shows off the yarn but also makes it perfect for storage. This isn't just your bog-standard stripey yarn though - the black details look like animal stripes, but are subtle enough that they don't overpower the yarn.
